Perfect Tense

The perfect tenses in spanish are when you want to express something like "I have already done that."

There are two ways to do this in spanish: the presente perfecto, and the pluscuamperfecto!

Presente Perfecto, Present Perfect

"Have/Has _______"

• Lo usamos para decir lo que hemos hecho (we have done) recentamente
• ¿Como lo formamos?
• Conjugar con el verbo "haber" (en el presente)
• he
• has
• ha
• hemos
• habeís
• han
• Añade el participio pasado (past participle)
• -ar => ado: hablar => hablado
• -er/-ir => ido: querer => querido, vivir => vivido
• ¿Que son los irregulares?
• abrir => abierto
• escribir => escrito
• morir => muerto
• hacer => hecho
• poner => puesto
• ver => visto
• decir => dicho
• volver => veulto
• romper => roto (broken)
• cubrir => cubierto (covered)
• imprimir => impreso (printed)
• resolver => resuelto (resolved)

if there's a double vowel, put an accent over the i:

• caer => caído (fallen)
• leer => leído (read)
• creer => creído (believed)
• oír => oído (heard)

Pluscuamperfecto, Past Perfect

This is very similar to the Present perfect, except think of it like "had ______ed".

Think of it as slightly more past tense than the present perfect.

To conjugate haber in the past tense:

• había
• habías
• había
• habíamos
• habíais
• habían

Then the same past participle of the present perfect.
